Important Information & Requirements:

  • Physical Fitness & Skill: This program is built for active cyclists accustomed to continuous high-gradient climbs and fast-paced descents. Daily rides range from 42 km up to 80 km.
  • Extreme Mountain Climates: While coastal zones are mild (14°C to 18°C), our high-mountain routes (up to 2,000m+) can drop below 0°C, and fast descents cause rapid wind chill.
  • Mandatory Cycling Apparel: Due to cold high-altitude descents, you must bring windproof outer shells, full-finger gloves, and shoe covers.
  • Mechanical Readiness: If you are bringing your own bike, ensure it is in perfect working order with appropriate gear ratios for steep climbs. Muddy mountain trails can wear down brakes quickly; S4H support vehicles carry spare pads, but having your bike serviced before arrival is highly recommended.
  • Plan B Route Changes: Safety is our priority. If high-altitude passes (like Saklıkent) are blocked by snow or black ice, alternative routes in lower pine forest zones will be used.
What to bring

    Essential Packing List for Cyclists:

    • Your Bike & Helmet: Bring your Gravel or Mountain Bike (MTB) in peak working condition, along with your helmet.
    • Cold-Weather Riding Gear:
      Hands & Feet:
Full-finger windproof cycling gloves and insulated shoe covers (essential for high-altitude descents).
Core: Thermal base layers, a fleece/insulating mid-layer, and a reliable windproof cycling jacket.
Legs: Full-length cycling bib tights or thermal leg warmers.
    • Nutrition & Hydration: Personal water bottles or a hydration backpack (hydration mixes/powders are highly recommended).
    • Tools & Spares: While S4H provides mechanical support, we recommend bringing any custom replacement parts specific to your bike model (such as a spare derailleur hanger).
    • Sun & Skin Protection: Sunglasses with interchangeable lenses (clear/tinted), high SPF sunscreen, and chamois cream.
    • Swimwear: Perfect for the beachside moments or relaxing at the regional lodge.
