Good to know
Snow
Both main resorts rely heavily on snowmaking, so expect groomed slopes rather than frequent deep powder days. Shahdag's season typically runs from mid-December to mid-April, and Tufandağ's from early December to the end of March, depending on conditions.
Getting there
- Baku to Shahdag: about 210 km, around three hours by road
- Baku to Gabala: trains and buses run to Gabala city
- Gabala International Airport is about 29 km from Tufandağ
- Public buses run from Baku to Qusar, then take a taxi to Shahdag
