About Palandöken

Palandöken Ski Center covers an area about 70 km long and 25 km wide on Palandöken Mountain, south of Erzurum. It was declared a Winter Tourism Center in 1993. Erzurum hosted the 25th World University Winter Games in 2011.

The center has three ski areas: Erzurum (Hınıs) Strait, also known as Palandöken Ski Resort, Konaklı and Gez Plateau. Two runs are registered by the International Ski Federation (FIS) for slalom and giant slalom. Snow starts around October and November, and the ski season runs from November to the end of April, with powder snow through the season.

  • 15 km from the airport and 4 km from Erzurum city center

On the mountain

  • 10 chairlifts, 1 platter lift, 2 baby lifts and 1 gondola
  • The gondola climbs 1,000 m to Ejder Hill
  • Seven easy, eight medium and several hard runs, plus four natural runs

Beyond skiing

Paragliding, mountaineering, snowtube and paintball are on offer. The surrounding natural park suits trips, picnics and walks in every season, and the resort is also a center for congress tourism.

Where to stay

Two five-star hotels, one four-star, one three-star and one two-star hotel stand at the resort, and many two- and three-star hotels are in the city center.
